Tiema Smart Manufacturing · New Project Launch | Six-side Lamination Smart Production Line Officially Put into Operation
2026-09-01

Amid the digital transformation wave of the manufacturing industry, intelligent upgrading in the mattress sector is no longer limited to replacing standalone equipment. Instead, it focuses on full-process innovation for core production procedures.

Mattress foam edge lamination is a critical process that determines edge support, finished product flatness and durability of mattress cores. Under traditional production models, this process heavily relies on manual labor: workers repeatedly move and flip mattresses, manually align foam strips, apply adhesive and perform pressure bonding. High-intensity repetitive work often leads to misalignment, dimensional errors and weak adhesion. It brings heavy labor pressure and inconsistent quality within the same batch of products, forming a major process bottleneck for large-scale smart factory construction.

To tackle this common industry pain point, Tiema Smart Manufacturing leverages years of R&D experience in intelligent mattress equipment to custom-build a foam strip six-side lamination smart production line for a leading domestic mattress enterprise. This innovative smart solution completely revolutionizes conventional foam edge lamination workflows.

Recently, this high-standard, customized six-side lamination smart production line has completed installation, commissioning and official commissioning, serving as a landmark project for the enterprise’s smart factory development.

Tailored to the client’s product specification requirements, the commissioned six-side lamination line achieves stable output at a cycle time of 30 seconds per mattress with zero manual intervention. It supports multi-specification mattresses with width 1.2–1.8 m, length up to 2.0 m and thickness 10–30 cm. Equipped with flexible multi-specification fixtures, the line automatically grips auxiliary materials and various mattress core raw materials, and completes the full workflow in one station: grabbing foam strips for four sides of mattress cores, precision glue application, pressure bonding and automatic palletizing.

The production line comes standard with an AI real-time visual correction system, operating in synergy with 6-axis robots. The equipment automatically measures material dimensions and performs real-time alignment correction, fundamentally eliminating common quality defects such as foam lamination misalignment and dimensional deviation.

Powerful Smart Manufacturing Value: Boost Quality and Cut Costs for Mass Production

Since launch, the production line has delivered tangible improvements on the production floor:

Reduced labor requirements: Free workers from high-intensity repetitive tasks of mattress handling and flipping, ease recruitment pressure and optimize manpower allocation.

Higher production efficiency: Stable cycle of 30 seconds per mattress, unaffected by worker fatigue or shift changes, meeting delivery demands for large-volume factory orders. ✅ Unified product quality standards: Standardized operations by AI vision and robots eliminate human-induced variations, reduce defective products such as misalignment and delamination, and guarantee consistent quality across batches.

Compatible with smart factory systems: The line can connect to factory digital systems and integrate into the overall smart manufacturing architecture, providing robust hardware solutions for the digital and intelligent transformation of mattress plants.

Tiema Smart Manufacturing has long focused on intelligent mattress manufacturing equipment. Adhering to the principle of “centered on clients’ actual production demands”, Tiema delivers one-stop professional services covering solution design, equipment R&D, manufacturing, on-site installation, commissioning and after-sales support.

Going forward, Tiema Smart Manufacturing will continue to refine intelligent equipment solutions for all mattress production processes, helping more mattress factories break through process bottlenecks and advance toward true smart manufacturing.
